Directors and officers liability insurance
The University is protected by a directors and officers liability insurance policy.
Directors and officers can become legally obligated to pay on account of claims against them for any wrongful acts that they commit. The law restricts the actions against which the University can grant indemnification.
Where the University has granted indemnification (as permitted by the law), the insurance policy covers claims first made against the director or officer during the policy period, for acts before or during the policy period.
This insurance also covers students “under the direction or control of the University …. whilst undertaking any activity approved, requested or recognised by the University” such may include practical training both on or off campus including, practical placement, enterprise / work experience and field assignments
There are no geographical limits on directors and officers liability insurance.
